Working method

Like most translation agencies, I adhere to the mother tongue principle. This means I translate from English into Dutch, my mother tongue.

In addition, if possible, I make use of translation software. This does not mean I will enter your text into the programme and wait for a translation to appear. Instead, I use computer aided translation tools (known as CAT tools). This kind of software is particularly useful if there is a lot of repetition in a text or if existing texts need to be amended or updated, or when consistent use of terminology is a requirement. The advantage for you, particularly with large texts, is that consistency is guaranteed, but also that I can offer you attractive rates, as I won’t charge you the full price for repetitions. The software I use can calculate exactly how much repetition there is in your text and to what extent (from 100% to less than 75%). Based on that computer calculation, I can offer you a discount on my normal word rate, which is always a nice bonus!

I can deliver translations in MS Office format (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and PDF. I also prefer to receive texts in these formats. There will be an extra charge for documents on paper and other non-digital forms of delivery of source materials.
